Risk Factors of Oral Cancer

Do you know? There are an estimated 657,000 new cases of oral cancer each year!

Oral cancer refers to cancer that develops in any of the parts that make up the oral cavity.

Oral cancers form when cells on the lips or in the mouth develop changes in their DNA.
Oral cancers most commonly begin in the flat, thin cells or squamous cells that line your lips and the inside of your mouth.
You can reduce your risk of mouth cancer if you:
• Stop using tobacco or don't start.
• Drink alcohol only in moderation.
• Apply a sunscreen lip product as part of your routine.
• See your dentist regularly.
